Live Scan
Applicant fingerprinting for employment, licensing, certifications, foreign adoptions or VISA/Immigration purposes is currently UNAVAILABLE from the Truckee Police Department. We usually do both Livescan fingerprinting and also ink fingerprint cards (hard copy). (Livescan digitally transmits your fingerprints to the California State Department of Justice.)
Bike Registration
To register your bike with the Truckee Police Department, fill out the bike registration form and mail / drop off along with a color photo of the bicycle, or scan / email to our department.

Concealed Weapons Permits
Effective January 1, 2017, all of the Carrying a Concealed Weapon permits will be processed and issued by Nevada County Sheriff’s Office-Truckee Branch, located at 10879 Donner Pass Road, Truckee. The process will be handled by appointment only.
Police Reports
Portions of crime reports are considered public records and may be released to the general public. Be advised that not all reports can be released when requested.
Press Log
The information contained on the Press Log is captured from reports entered into our computerized records management system. The intent of this log is to inform the news media of crime activity occurring within our jurisdiction.
Criminal History Requests
The Truckee Police Department can check your local criminal history for the Town of Truckee only. The Town of Truckee Police Department came into existence in Sept. 2001, so for records prior to that date, please contact the Nevada County Sheriff’s Department at 530-550-2320.
Property & Evidence
The storage and release of property and evidence is controlled and maintained by the Field & Evidence Specialist. All property releases are done by appointment only.
